My experience includes film & television, music videos and commercials. I have been actively involved in the film industry since 1994 while living in Vancouver, B.C. I started writing, producing and directing projects of my own at that time winning several awards. My entertainment background started in the early 1980’s in the theatre as a performer (winning several Best Actor awards for drama & comedy). I started directing theatre in the Toronto area in 1986. My decision to branch out into the film industry is what landed me in Vancouver in 1993 to enrolling into a one year course at the Vancouver Film School (Kevin Smith attended the year before me). Graduating from VFS with a Certificate of Excellence, I immediately began earning a living working in the local film industry becoming a member of the Directors Guild of Canada by 1995. Since that period I have continued to write, produce and direct my own projects in drama and documentaries.
Since "The King of Siam" was completed I have been working on a six-part dance series for Bravo! titled "Dancing with Spirit". The series has been broadcasted on Bravo!, APTN & SCN. In 2008 the series was nominated for three (3) Gemini Awards - two (2) for Best Direction in a Performing Arts Program and the third for Best Ensemble Dancers. Previously the one hour dance program that I produced & directed for Bravo! entitled ‘Quest’, was nominated for two Gemini Awards in 2005. One for the Best Direction in a Performing Arts Program and the second nomination for the Best Performance in a Performing Arts Program (Byron Chief-Moon). 'Quest' has also been shown on APTN and SCN. I also produced & directed the native drama titled “Back to Turtle Island” that has been quite successful. Winning BEST FILM DRAMA at the American Indian Film Festival in San Francisco, received SEVEN (7) NOMINATIONS at the British Columbia LEO AWARDS – Winning BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY award, the film also received HONORABLE MENTION at the Columbus International Film Festival, plus it has also been broadcast on VISION TV, APTN, SCN, and D NETWORK in Australia.
At present I'm in pre-production on a feature film length dramatic thriller titled “STEAM” based on a short story I optioned by Murray Logan.
